My Cultural Antrolopology

In the cave paintings, I believe that each painting was a different theme, but all had the same when it came to mystical animals and trying to bring them to life. The mystical animals are known to have roamed with the people and also have represented people in the lives of others.  I believe the reason as to why there are more animals then people in the paintings is because there were more animals at the time rather than humans around, so I believe that it was just more natural at the time.  In many cultures, art is seen as a way of expression so in the Paleolithic era, a majority of the people were hunter-gatherers. Since caves were seen as a place of shelter, this was where many paintings were made out of comfort. Since there was no paper or no media, the caves were seen as that visual form of language to show others their cultures and their beliefs. When it comes to the rules of killing other people and also the punishment for breaking those rules, the system is different from the Yanomamo versus western cultures in general. On the side of the Yanomamo, it states in the article that their judical system does not consist of actual laws or even people like judges or chiefs to carry out the law. Their way of a judical system relies on the behavior of their people based on their customs and beliefs that act as the law. The consequences for breaking their customs also result in revenge fights or killings. On the side of western cultures in general, it is the complete opposite. Part 1 For the first part of this experiment, I was asked to engage in a conversation for 15 minutes where I was not allowed to use any version of a symbolic language. This part of the experiment alone was very difficult in ways that while the other people in the conversation were able to use language, I found it difficult to get my point or even opinion across in the conversation. It was also challenging for the other people in the conversation as whenever I had to speak, they had to take more time figuring out what I was trying to say, which made the conversation more time consuming. When it came to my impression of my partners, what made the conversation easier was that they were able to alter their way of communicating with me once they were able to understand the message that I was trying to explain. The Zulu People : The Zulu people are known to be the most recognizable group in Africa. They mainly in a province in South Africa called KwaZulu-Natal which is roughly between the Indian Ocean and a mountain range called Drakensber. The location is near the bottom of the Africa continent and below Zimbabwe. When it comes to the living conditions, most of the rural areas do not have the basic services, also a typical family is patriarchal, meaning that the man is the head of the household and the figure of authority. When it comes to temperatures based on the location, during the summer which is May-September, the temperatures are warm and rainy between 55-82 degrees Fahrenheit. During the winter, which is roughly between June-August, the temperature then changes to cold and dry between 57-89 degrees Fahrenheit. Dedication I use this word as both how people on the outside feel towards wanting to get to know the Nacerima, and also how the Nacerima feel about their own culture and their own beliefs. In the article, I see how the writer puts so much detail in trying to explain the culture to others as if it was being told by the Nacerima people themselves. I also love how the Nacerima people are so dedicated to their culture and so true. In the text, it states many times that learning more about others culture and how dedicated they are no matter what others think make them who they are.
